The Opportunity

We are looking for creative, passionate and energetic individuals to support our governmental design, commercial clients, and program work as Civil Engineers. This individual will develop site concepts and plans according to program, codes, and construction budget for public and commercial projects. Individual will interface with project manager, project architect and client and prepare preliminary elevations, site layouts and schematic documents.

The ideal candidate is resourceful and inquisitive, has a passion for great architecture, wants to help foster long-term client relationships through exemplary service, and believes that projects should be tailored to the client’s needs.

Specific job responsibilities are as follows:

  1. Performs due diligence investigations including but not limited to planning & zoning analysis, utility research, environmental & geotechnical reviews, and conceptual construction cost analysis.
  2. Develops conceptual layouts and technical solutions to comply with the project program.
  3. Prepares construction documents including layout, grading, utilities, storm water management (both quantity & quality control), and applicable details.
  4. Makes presentations to clients, planning commission, or local permitting authority, as needed
  5. Provides construction administration assistance, such as shop drawing review, responding to requests for information, construction observation, and attends job site coordination meetings, as necessary.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A professional degree
  • Proficiency in design software including: AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, and Hydraflow or similar hydraulic software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and reviewing authorities
  • Experience in all phases of design
  • Profieciency with hand sketching
