Vitamix World Headquarters Expansion - Construction Services

This new three-story expansion provided much needed office and meeting space in a new, modern work environment. The first floor of this new facility includes a new, light-filled employee lunchtime ‘bistro’ that opens out to a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Featured spaces include a flexible meeting area, a state of the art commercial kitchen, offices, collaborative work spaces, an employee fitness center, and a roof terrace. This expansion is LEED Registered.

Bowen also renovated Vitamix’s shipping and receiving warehouse. The existing high-bay production area was converted to a two-story configuration, adding office space to the second floor. A 35,000 SF warehouse was added, allowing Vitamix to separate manufacturing and shipping/receiving. This addition/renovation is LEED Silver Certified.

The project also involved parking renovations and extensive site work.

During the course of almost three years on site, Bowen handled all aspects of the project starting with estimating and scheduling and continuing through project management, LEED coordination, and close out.

Bowen assembled the schedule and met with the trades on a weekly basis to review and to discuss any foreseeable issues. Bowen maintained a daily log detailing work throughout the course of the project. Bowen shared a trailer with the General Contractor which promoted an open dialogue along with maintaining a positive, open line of communication with the trades. Materials and processes were reviewed by Bowen. If there were installation issues, Bowen would follow up with the Contractor and make sure that the issues were corrected.
