NEORSD Easterly Service and Security Buildings Rehabilitation
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) hired RLB+A to lead a team of architects and engineers through a rehabilitation project at their Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant. Easterly consists of 12 buildings built between the 1930s and 2015. This project included a range of work in nearly all of the buildings.
The most notable components of the project include:
- Design and construction of a new Security Building at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant’s main entrance.
- A phasing plan and specifications for a Temporary Security Trailer while the new building is under construction.
- Expanded parking
- New landscaping and parking area lighting.
- Assessment of six (6) existing brick and stone masonry structures to identify necessary repairs, and development of construction drawings and masonry rehabilitation specifications.
- Re-roofing at select buildings and areas, including a complete tear-off and replacement of an existing coal tar roof with a new modified bituminous roofing system.
This project also included lighting replacements at the Service Building and gallery structures, a small toilet and locker room renovations, installation of new above ground fuel storage tanks, and other miscellaneous upgrades of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
