The project began with a master facility plan, which focused on several key areas of deficiency and dysfunction in the existing building. Richard L. Bowen + Associates (RLB+A) developed a design that created a functional, resident-friendly facility.
Selected exterior improvements such as a new entrance and landscaping were also included. The project featured a state-of-the-art Physical and Occupational Therapy Suite designed to assist rehabilitation patients in their reentry into the community.
To accommodate the continuing operation of the facility, the renovation project was divided into six consecutive renovation phases. In each phase, residents and staff were temporarily moved to another section of the building, so that a complete renovation of each phase area could be completed without disturbing care and continuity.
RLB+A provided full service construction management including extensive value engineering and bid/award management.
