North Olmsted, Ohio
Modernizing a classic ice arena for future generations
Bowen provided architectural and engineering services for the renovation of North Olmsted’s existing ice arena facility.
The existing ice rink ceiling insulation was removed and replaced with a new low-emittance ceiling system. The large parapet system on the North and East sides of the ice arena were also removed.
Renovations and modernizations were made to the lighting systems and HVAC systems in arena as well as in the party and warming room. New rubber flooring and an operable glass partition were installed in the warming room. LED lighting and a dedicated HVAC system was installed for the party and warming room separate from the arena’s new updated system.
The existing sand floor system for the ice sheet was replaced, including the replacement of the in-floor piping system of the rink. Bowen also removed and replaced all of the dasher boards around the perimeter of the ice rinks, including glass panels and netting through a Design/Build with Tempest.
