Evolving public safety design for renovation and new construction

Bowen leads the programming and design for this combined Police Station + Municipal Court. The project was originally conceived as a new building on a separate site, and we created multiple site plans including different combinations of programming elements in addition to the Justice Center, including a future recreation center and athletic fields, while also navigating restrictive utilities.

As the municipal financial forecast shifted, we helped the City pivot by exploring renovate-in-place concepts. The new design builds out their existing facility while accommodating an expanded program for both police and courts based on best public safety practices.
