BIM Manager

The Opportunity
Bowen has an immediate opening for a BIM Manager.  Candidate should have knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.  This individual should be able to address the challenges of managing an active Auotdesk and REVIT suite. They should be able to overcome challenges on a case-by-case basis and possess a willingness to work in teams to collaborate on solutions. An interest in trends and developments with the technology will prove vital to success in this position.

Position Duties:

  • Software
    • Manage Autodesk products including but not limited to incorporating new version/build releases and customization.
    • Manage implementation of 3rd party plugins for Revit.
    • Evaluate new Revit versions and 3rd party plugins
    • Installation of Revit, Revit updates and 3rd party plugins.
    • Implement Autodesk 360
    • Test deployments to be coordinated with IT Manager as required to provide final deployment to staff.
  • Standards and Templates
    • Maintain and update template for Architecture, Structural and MEP disciplines.
    • Develop and Implement Revit standards and procedures.
    • Develop Dynamo scripts for automation to support productivity.
    • Maintain, Train, and Implement best practices for modeling and file creation.
    • Create and maintain resource models with common families and standard details to be used across multiple projects.
    • Work with specifications writer to coordinate naming conventions to be consistent with written specifications and Revit files.
    • Coordinate keynote library with specification writer.

 

  • Management
    • Create deployment strategies for Revit/Autodesk software implementation.
    • Assess the current workflow, file structure, and state of system.
    • Work with IT coordinator for software deployment.
    • Work Autodesk vendor and Autodesk to troubleshoot issues and deployment.
    • Create periodic reports for management team on state of BIM systems.
    • Work with IT coordinator to maintain hardware standards.
  • Training
    • Provide training to staff.
    • Provide periodic continuing education Revit training sessions.
    • Provide training/orientation for new hires.

 

  • Production
    • Assist with production work on projects with modeling and detailing.
    • Provide model coordination across disciplines with internal and external team members.
    • Assist with initial project model setup.
    • Create project specific Revit families and elevate third party Revit families to assure compatibility with our system.
    • Help resolve model issues during course of project.
    • Assist in Revit coordination with other Autodesk production and 3d modeling software.
    • Work with project teams to manage model size and consultant coordination.
