The Shops at White Oak Village

A sustainable design with an historic look

The Shops at White Oak Village, located near Richmond, Virginia features nearly 1 million square feet of big box anchors, out lots, and a central lifestyle center of inline retail and restaurants. Forest City directed our design team to use a blend of historical styles and an extensive variety of materials and textures for the in-line tenants.

Located on a 136-acre parcel that is a reclaimed site of a manufacturing facility, sustainability features include construction waste management and stormwater management.

With The Shops at White Oak Village, Bowen introduced Forest City to Building Information Modeling (BIM). We provided Forest City with a BIM 3-D model which made available to their construction department an easier way to prepare material take-offs for cost estimating. We also used BIM as a tool in preparing lease plans for potential tenants. The information made available through the BIM model gave their leasing department a distinct advantage in presenting available space to potential tenants.
