University of Toledo/Ohio State Highway Patrol Public Safety Center

Working with two separate law-enforcement agencies to create an efficient and secure shared facility

Bowen is leading the design for a new public safety facility on the University of Toledo campus. The project is a partnership between UT and the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s (ODPS) Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) to build a new shared facility to serve The University of Toledo Police Department (UTPD) and the Toledo Metropolitan Post for the OSHP.

The facility includes dedicated spaces for both UTPD and OSHP, as well as spaces that will be shared by the two agencies. The facility will include offices, work rooms, dispatch, roll call room, training/meeting rooms, fitness area, locker rooms, interview rooms, and storage. The project will also include site development, including the parking required for the facility.
